Ukrainian President meets Azerbaijani FM

President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych met with visiting Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov in Kiev on Thursday.

President Yanukovych praised the steady filling of the Ukrainian-Azerbaijani relations with pragmatic content.

He mentioned a constructive meeting he had held with his Azerbaijani counterpart at this year's World Economic Forum in Davos.

"We discussed our joint plans. And the proposals of Azerbaijan are very important for Ukraine today. Our task today is to work more actively to attract Azerbaijan’s energy resources," Viktor Yanukovych said.

"We hope that the first steps that were made and the first million tons of oil that has been pumped through the Odessa-Brody oil pipeline are the start of a very big project," said.
