Azerbaijani parliament approves several agreements

The Azerbaijani Parliament on Tuesday approved the Agreement on the state border and Agreement on cooperation in the effective use and protection of water resources of trans-boundary Samur River between Azerbaijan and Russia.

Chairman of the parliamentary committee on international and inter-parliamentary relations Samad Seyidov said at the parliament session that the Agreement on state border is important from the point of view of strategic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia.

Agreement on cooperation in the effective use and protection of water resources of trans-boundary Samur River envisages the effective use of Samur River by Azerbaijan and Russia without harming the ecosystem of the river, said Vice Speaker of Azerbaijani Parliament Valeh Alasgarov.

The agreements had been signed in Baku on Sept. 3. In addition, the Parliament of Azerbaijan ratified the statement by the presidents of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania and the Hungarian Prime Minister.
