Azerbaijan, Ecuador discuss bilateral relations

The issues on strengthening bilateral relations, expanding cooperation and improving legal base for it were discussed at a meeting of Azerbaijani Permanent Representative to the U.N. Agshin Mehdiyev with First Deputy Foreign Minister of Ecuador Quinto Enrique Lucas Lopez on Monday.

Agshin Mehdiyev met with Lopez during his visit to Ecuador on November 22-23, the Azerbaijani Permanent Mission to the U.N. told Trend today.

At the meeting Mehdiyev spoke about the ongoing reforms in the country, its achievements and the situation in the region. Permanent representative drew Lopez's attention to the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict and Azerbaijan's position on the issue.

Both sides stressed the importance of continuing consultations to bring closer the positions of the two countries in international organizations on issues of mutual interest and importance.
