Azerbaijani CEC declares election results invalid in three polling stations

The Azerbaijani Central Election Commission (CEC) declared invalid the election results in three polling stations.
The results have been declared invalid in one precinct in each of the following district election commissions - Gusar Constituency No. 51, Yardimli-Masalli Constituency No. 72 and Lerik Constituency No. 78.

The preliminary voting results in 5,311 of 5,314 polling stations have been placed on the CEC website. According to the electoral code, the protocols of the district election commissions will be considered within 20 days after the elections and submitted to the Constitutional Court.

Azerbaijan held the parliamentary elections on Nov. 7. The voter turnout hit about 50.14 percent (roughly 2.48 million voters) in Azerbaijan, the CEC's Elections Information Center told Trend.

The CEC reported that 690 candidates are running for the parliamentary elections. Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 constituencies. Previous parliamentary elections were held in November 2005.
