Azerbaijani president offers condolences to Russian counterpart

Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev has extended his condolences to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev over prominent Russian statesman Viktor Chernomyrdin's death.

"The news of the death of outstanding public and political figure of Russia Viktor Stepanovich Chernomyrdin was a source of great sorrow to me," the message of condolence says.

"Please, accept my most sincere condolences to you, family and friends of Viktor Chernomyrdin," the president says in a message.
