Large delegation led by Turkish foreign trade minister visits Nakhchivan

A delegation led by Turkish State Minister for Foreign Trade Zafer Caglayan arrived in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on October 26 to attend Azerbaijan-Turkey business-forum.
125-man delegation consists of businessmen and representatives of nongovernmental organizations. Deputy chairman of Nakhchivan Supreme Assembly Azer Zeynalov, Trade Minister of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Famil Seyidov, Turkish ambassador to Azerbaijan Hulusi Kilic and other officials welcomed the delegation at the airport. Chairman of Nakhchivan Supreme Assembly Vasif Talibov received the delegation.

At the meeting with Vasif Talibov, Zafer Caglayan said he is pleased to be in Nakhchivan. “During our visit to Azerbaijan Honorable President Ilham Aliyev wanted us to pay a working visit to Nakhchivan. Bilateral meetings will be held with participation of businessmen from Eastern Anatolia and heads of commercial-industrial chambers, agreements will be reached. We will do our best for the development of Nakhchivan. Nakhchivan’s development is very important for us. As there is political stability here, Nakhchivan is in the focus of attention. We will make investments in Nakhchivan and extend trade,” he said.

Vasif Talibov said Nakhchivan is a part of the only Turkic-speaking country which Turkey borders on. Speaking about the development of Nakhchivan he said all necessary steps will be taken for the development of economic relations with Turkey.

Vasif Talibov gave a reception in honor of the visitors. Following this, the Turkish delegation went sightseeing. Caglayan is expected to meet with Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev.
