22 October 2010 [17:13] - TODAY.AZ
Azerbaijan will print over 5 million ballots, the Central Election Comission Chairman Mazahir Panahov told journalists today.
"The number of ballots is more than 5 million. In accordance with the requirements of the Electoral Code, the ballots will be printed by 3 percent more than the number of voters. We try to complete this process by late this month. That is, the processes of printing ballots and their distribution between districts will be conducted in parallel," Panahov said.

Azerbaijan today started printing ballots for upcoming parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan. Election ballots will be printed by typographical method in the Azerbaijani Parliament's print shop.

The Azerbaijani Central Election Commission (CEC) at a meeting Oct.1 approved the text, form, number and rules to prepare ballots.

The CEC chairman Mazahir Panahov will visit the print shop to monitor the process of printing ballots. According to Panahov, the CEC members have been determined to control this process.

"The CEC representatives have been determined based on the equality principle. That is, they are representatives of minority, majority of the CEC's independent members," Panahov said.

The parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are scheduled for November 7, 2010.
