Azerbaijani CEC: International observers not to face problems with obtaining visas

The Azerbaijani Central Election Commission (CEC) ensures that the international observers will have no problems in obtaining visas to visit the country.

"Observers accredited to the CEC will not face difficulties to visit Azerbaijan," CEC International Relations Department head Rovzat Gasimov told journalists on Wednesday.

"The CEC has contacted the country's relevant agencies. The international observers, who will arrive in Azerbaijan to observe the parliamentary elections, will not have a problem in obtaining visas," Gasimov said.

A total of 451 observers from the OSCE, PACE, CIS and TurkPA have been accredited to observe the elections.  

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed on Tuesday a decree "On introducing amendments to Presidential Decree No.326 dated Sept.13, 2010 " On some issues relating to registration of visas to foreigners and stateless persons arriving in the Republic of Azerbaijan. "
