Investigation into "black transplantation" of human organs launched in Azerbaijan

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and General Prosecutor’s Office of Azerbaijan launched investigation of the “black transplantation”, spokesperson for the General Prosecutor’s Office Eldar Sultanov said.

The General Prosecutor’s Office forwarded a query of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan.

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Internal Affairs Orkhan Masurzadeh confirmed that they received the query and began the investigation.

Recently Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan Zakir Garalov told journalists that they are seriously investigating every report about the “black transplantation”.

“Ukrainian law-enforcement agencies said that they had operational materials about the “black transplantation”. We will investigate this case together with the Ukrainian colleagues. If there are Azerbaijani doctors involved in “organ mafia”, they will be brought to justice. Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs sent a notification two days ago. We will learn it and make relevant decisions”.
