Azerbaijan responds to Armenian FM's remarks describing country as "terrorist"

“Cynicism by Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan is surprising since he is representative of a state which has practiced terrorism since its inception and even before that,” Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Elkhan Polukhov said in response to Armenian foreign minister’s remarks accusing Azerbaijan of terrorist activities.

"I want to remind the Armenian foreign minister that hands of part of the political establishment of Armenia are covered in blood, up to their elbows. I want to remind Nalbandyan of activities of Armenian terrorists against Azerbaijan beginning from 1983 which claimed lives of hundreds of civilians,” Polukhov added.

“The country, whose representatives have committed acts of terrorism in subways, trains, ferries and other civilian locations, has no moral right to make such an accusation against Azerbaijan. Let Nalbandyan remember that one day these terrorists will be brought to justice and punished for their actions,” he said.

"The terrorist activities of the Armenian militants have quite a deep story, and I don’t need to remind Edward Nalbandian of terrorists of ASALA and other same kind of paramilitary units that terrorized the world and still continue to terrorize civilians," Polukhov stated.
