Over 283 candidates registered in parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan

Over 1,378 candidates, ready to compete for MP mandate during parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan, appealed to the district election commissions, over 1,331 candidates got petitions and 550 candidates have already filled out and submitted them to the CEC, Mazahir Panahov, chairman of the Central Election Commission, said.

"Over 283 people were registered as candidates," Panahov said.

Parliamentary elections are scheduled for Nov. 7. Previous legislative elections were held in November 2005. Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 electoral constituencies.
