ADB delegation visiting Azerbaijan

The members of the Board of Directors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) are visiting Azerbaijan.
The ADB delegation, led by executive director Phil Bowen started their trip by visiting the Alley of Honors and laid a wreath at the tomb of national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev. They also put flowers at the tomb of eminent ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva.

The ADB delegation also visited the Alley of Martyrs and put flowers at the tombs of Azerbaijan`s brave sons who died for the independence and territorial integrity of the country.
Here, they also laid a wreath at the Eternal Fire monument. Later, they met with Azerbaijan Minister of Finance Samir Sharifov.

Sharifov stressed thanks to President Ilham Aliyev`s policy, influential economic and financial organizations seek to cooperate with Azerbaijan. He noted Azerbaijan was one of the few countries to weather the global crisis effectively.

The meeting also discussed the current situation of and prospects for Azerbaijan-ADB cooperation. The sides have also exchanged views over ADB`s master plan on Azerbaijan`s economic development.
