Azerbaijani ambassador: Iranian Armenians prefer other countries

The number of Armenians living in Iran has decreased, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Iran Javanshir Akhundov said. "Over 200,000-250,000 Armenians lived here during the Shah's regime. Now roughly 65,000 Armenians live in Iran", the ambassador said.

According to the ambassador, despite there are Armenian newspapers, churches and schools in Iran, they point out that nobody goes to the Armenian schools. "Iranian Armenians prefer learning in English schools", Akhundov said.
