
Azerbaijan's ruling party New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) appealed to the Central Election Commission (CEC) for the registration of the NAP authorized representatives in the parliamentary elections. This issue was discussed today at the CEC's meeting.
The ruling party has submitted documents of 135 authorized representatives and one representative for financial matters to the CEC, the CEC secretary Natiq Mammadov. The Central Election Commission adopted a decision on registration of authorized representatives of the party.
Parliamentary elections are scheduled for Nov. 7. Previous legislative elections were held in November 2005. Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 electoral constituencies.
