The Director-General of Kofi Annan's Global Humanitarian Forum, Chair of the UNESCO International Programme for the Development of Communication (IPDC), Ambassador Walter Fust, supports the initiative to appoint a UN Special Representative on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
"It's a quite interesting proposal, I think it will contribute to solving the conflict," said Fust, YES Azerbaijan international advisory group reported.
The UN must appoint a special representative for the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Vaira Vike-Freiberga, the president of Latvia from 1999 to 2007 and special envoy to the UN Secretary General and Vice-Chairman of the Group of Experts on the long-term development of the European Union, told in Baku.
It is time to resolve the conflict, which creates so many problems for the region, said Fust.
