PACE observation mission to visit Azerbaijan in October

A PACE delegation, composed of five people will arrive in Azerbaijan to monitor the pre-election situation in Azerbaijan on October 18, the CE Baku office head Veronika Kotek told media in Baku.

She said that the second mission will arrive in Azerbaijan to observe directly the process of elections several days before the voting process. The mission will consist of 30 PACE members. The MPs' names will be announced soon, Kotek said.

Parliamentary elections are scheduled for Nov. 7. Previous legislative elections were held in November 2005. Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 electoral constituencies.
