Association of European Election Officials to assist during parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan

When the independent research center ELS is admitted to the association as an associate institutional member of the AEEO in September, the AEEO will assist in the creation of a coordination network and offer European expertise during the exit poll that will be carried out  during the elections, ELS director Irada Yagubova told Trend.

She said that ELS will realize joint projects with other organizations and members of the association after it becomes a member of the European organization.

Today the AEEO consists of 24 institutional members which are the Central Election Commissions of European member states. Parliamentary elections are scheduled for Nov. 7. Previous legislative elections were held in November 2005. Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 electoral constituencies.
