Azerbaijan's flood-affected regions not to face difficulties in holding elections

There are no difficulties in holding of the parliamentary elections in the flood affected regions of the country, Azerbaijani Central Election Commission (CEC) Spokesman Azer Sariyev told Trend.

"The local authorities assist us in provision of building to the election points. All the constituencies have been provided with the buildings with normal state," Sariyev said.

Floods occurred in 40 regions of Azerbaijan due to the rise of the Kur River and heavy rainfalls in June. About 20,000 houses were flooded, more than 300 destroyed, 2,000 became unsafe and 76,000 hectares of cultivated land were left under water.

The CEC is in contact with the constituencies and it has not yet received any complaint on this matter, he added.
