Day of Turkish Army celebrated in Baku

On August 30, Baku hosted a ceremony on the Day of the Turkish Army, which was organized under the leadership of the military attaché of Turkey to Azerbaijan.
The military attaché of Turkey to Azerbaijan, Major-General Ozhan Ayash said that the Turkish army has proved what it is capable of.

"Today it possesses the most modern weapons and is one of the most advanced armies in the world, and the persistent struggle waged by the Turkish Armed Forces against terrorism is an example for imitation," the military attaché said.

Ayash recalled that the military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey was established by the late national leader of Azerbaijan.

On Aug. 30 each year,Turkey celebrates a big national holiday - Day of the Turkish Army (Zafer Bayrami) after a decisive victory over the Greek invaders and in honour of the memory of those killed at the Battle of Dumlupinare, which was the last war for Turkey's independence in 1922.
