Ukraine appeals to Azerbaijan over illegal transplantation of human organs

The Ukrainian Interior Ministry has appealed to the Azerbaijani General Prosecutor's Office with a request for assistance in organizing the ministry's employees' visit to Baku to investigate the information on illegal transplantation of human organs, First Deputy General Prosecutor Rustam Usubov said.

The Azerbaijani Interior Ministry and General Prosecutor's Office oversee the issue of illegal transplantation of human organs, he added.

According to media reports, some health facilities in Azerbaijan allegedly carry out "black transplantation" of human organs in cooperation with the citizens of Ukraine and Israel.

Earlier, the Azerbaijani General Prosecutor's Office tasked its international department to contact with the relevant bodies of the Ukrainian General Prosecutor's Office to clarify the issue.
