UN General Assembly expected to discuss resolution on Azerbaijan's occupied territories in September

Resolution on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict entitled "The situation in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan" will possible be discussed at the UN General Assembly meeting on Sept. 9, a UN source told APA’s Washington DC correspondent.

"Libya as a representative country which is chairing UN GA 64th Assembly has proposed to schedule a debate on Azerbaijan’s resolution as well as Kosovo and other issues on the same day. Last decision will be made soon," the source said.

Azerbaijan’s resolution was on UN GA agenda for a number of years. It was as well scheduled for the next UN GA session's agenda under number 39.

The Sept. 9 debate will clarify the opinions of UN member countries on the conflict.

For the first time a EU ambassador will attend the session as an observer.
