Culture Ministry: Lithuania prepares proposals on intensification of cross-cultural relations with Azerbaijan

The Lithuanian Ministry of Culture has prepared proposals on the intensification of cross-cultural relations with Azerbaijan. "Cultural relations between Lithuania and Azerbaijan have deep roots, but they can be more intense and at a higher level," the Lithuanian Minister of Culture Arunas Gelunas said today.

The delegation, consisting of MPs, chairman of the Seimas Committee on Economics and member of the Friendship Group Dainius Budrys, the country`s Minister of Culture Arunas Gelunas and other officials, is on visit to Azerbaijan.

According to Gelunas, the main purpose of the Lithuanian parliamentarians' visit to Azerbaijan is to strengthen relations between the two countries in the cultural sphere. Lithuanian MPs will meet with the Milli Majlis Chairman Ogtay Asadov and members of the Committees on International Affairs and Interparliamentary Relations, Legal Policy and State Building, as well as with members of the Committee on Economic Policy of the Parliament.

The visit will complete on August 19.
