Azerbaijani parliament speaker meets Turkish MPs

Speaker of Azerbaijan's Parliament Ogtay Asadov met with members of Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) on July 29.
Asadov said “Azerbaijan and Turkey enjoy strong friendly and fraternal relations”.

He praised the role of friendship groups in boosting the relations between the Azerbaijani and Turkish parliaments.

The Speaker stated that the Azerbaijan-Turkey interparliamentary working group “is one of the biggest friendship groups” at the Milli Majlis, describing the fact as “a vivid evidence of how important Azerbaijan is for Turkey”.

TBMM's chief of Turkey-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group Mustafa Kabakci said the visit of the Turkish delegation, which consists of state and government officials and MPS, aims to further expand economic ties between the two nations.

He said the Turkish delegation plans to visit other Turkic speaking countries as well. Asadov noted reciprocal visits contribute to further deepening the bilateral relations.

Head of the Azeri Parliament's Administration Safa Mirzayev, chairman of the Azerbaijan-Turkey interparliamentary working group Nizami Jafarov, and Secretary General of TurkPA Ramil Hasanov were present at the meeting.
