The ruling New Azerbaijan Party widely uses election technologies of the U.S. and other Western countries, the ruling party deputy executive secretary, MP Siyavush Novruzov said.

"We launch the electoral process, not after the official start, but much earlier. That is, we will be ready for all stages of the election campaign at a time when it is launched. This is one of the indicators envisaging our victory," Novruzov said.
The parliamentary elections will be held in Azerbaijan in autumn 2010. The last legislative elections were held in November 2005. The parliamentary elections are held by the majority system in 125 electoral constituencies in Azerbaijan.
Novruzov said that the ruling party successfully continues preparations for the elections. "Socio-political situation in Azerbaijan before the elections is normal. The state takes necessary measures for holding free and transparent elections," Novruzov said.
New Azerbaijan Party was established in November 1992. Its first chairman was Heydar Aliyev. It was registered in the Ministry of Justice December 18, 1992.
Chairman of the ruling party Heydar Aliyev was elected the Azerbaijani president October 3, 1993. After President Heydar Aliyev died in December 2003, President Ilham Aliyev became chairman of the party. Ilham Aliyev became chairman of the ruling party in March 2005.
