Azerbaijani CEC cooperates with all sides to improve electoral process

The Venice Commission and the Azerbaijani Central Election Commission (CEC) conducts two-day training seminar on the principle of considering complaints and appeals received by the election commissions during the elections.
"The CEC cooperates with all interested parties to improve the electoral process. The purpose of the event [the training-seminar] is to involve all experts acting in the lower election commissions, review the rules for considering complaints, and review and improve the knowledge of participants," CEC Secretary Natig Mammadov told journalists today.

Parliamentary elections will be held in Azerbaijan, on November 7, 2010. Previous elections were held in November 2005. The elections are held according to the majority system in Azerbaijan's 125 constituencies.

The two-day seminar is attended by members of district election commissions. Mammadov said the CEC attaches great importance to education, to realize which uses the opportunities of the media and the Internet.
