Azerbaijani FM Mammedyarov reveals, whether Azerbaijan will join NATO and EU

“Azerbaijan aspires to cooperatewith European Union and NATO, but it is not going to join these organizations”, said Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov in his interview to Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, according to APA.

Mammedyarov said the integration into the Euro-Atlantic institutions remained as priorities of the foreign policy of Azerbaijan. “But we have to understand clearly that the integration is not a membership. Our cooperation with NATO and EU will continue for the reforms necessary for us”.

The minister reminded that Azerbaijan is trying to accept multiple European standards in the different fields.
