Azerbaijani MPs visited Kuwait

The delegation met the speaker of Kuwait`s National Assembly Jassem Al-Kharafi, members of Kuwait-Azerbaijan friendship group on interparliamentary ties, women MPs, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Adel Al-Falah and officials of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

During the meeting with Jassem Al-Kharafi, the speaker praised the role of friendship groups on interparliamentary ties in development of cooperation between the parliaments of Kuwait and Azerbaijan. He also underlined the necessity of reciprocal visits by the two countries` parliamentarians. Jassem Al-Kharafi also said he would make a visit to Azerbaijan in the near future.

Head of the delegation Akram Abdullayev underscored the necessity of developing friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Kuwait even more. Touching upon the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Abdullayev thanked Kuwait for backing Azerbaijan`s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Azerbaijani delegation also met Kuwaiti women MPs during which they recalled their visit to Baku in April this year. The women MPs underlined the importance of conducting exchange of experience between the two countries` parliaments.

During the meeting with officials of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Azeri parliamentarians highlighted economic development and favorable business climate in their country.

As part of the visit, Akram Abdullayev and co-chair of the Kuwait-Azerbaijan friendship group on interparliamentary ties Waleed AlـTabtabaie held a press conference. They stressed the necessity of cooperation between the legislative bodies of Azerbaijan and Kuwait. They also described Armenia`s aggression against Azerbaijan as “unacceptable”.
