ICRC representatives visit Armenian family in Azerbaijan

Representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Azerbaijan visited the Armenian family, who crossed into the Azerbaijani territory on January 10, 2010, Spokesperson of the ICRC office Gulnaz Guliyeva said.
It was ICRC's second visit to the Armenian family. ICRC representatives monitored detention conditions of Armenians and talked with every member of the family separately.

They received a “letter of the Red Cross” from the Armenian family to deliver to their relatives. Armenian citizen, 58-year old Yegishe Petrosovich Gevorkyan entered the Azerbaijani territory in January , 2010 in his car with his wife and three children.

Gevorkyan ignored the Armenian border servicemen’s warning and crossed the border from Yeraskh region of Armenia and entered the territory of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan, Armenian Defense Ministry said.

Armenian side said Gevorkyan was previously sentenced for eight times for robbery, carjacking and other crimes.
