Azerbaijani President receives governor of Chinese People's Bank

The Head of State praised the two countries' relations, saying they were developing successfully. The Azerbaijani leader said his country intended to expand all-round relations with China. The President hailed the fact that despite the global financial crisis both countries' economies had been growing at a very good pace.

The President stressed the importance of conducting an exchange of views on joint economic cooperation initiatives. President Ilham Aliyev noted the visit of Zhou Xiaochuan to Baku would be a success, expressing confidence it would contribute to defining new directions of cooperation between the two countries.

Zhou Xiaochuan, in turn, said one of the purposes of his visit to Azerbaijan was to learn President Ilham Aliyev's position on the international financial system reforms to be discussed during a forthcoming meeting of G-20. Zhou Xiaochuan expressed confidence his visit to Azerbaijan would be fruitful.
