UN Secretary-General representative urges international community not to turn backs on refugee problem in Azerbaijan

Summing up his visit, Kalin noted the efforts of the Azerbaijani authorities to improve the situation of internally displaced persons, but also urged the international community not to ignore the fact that this category of persons holds this status for more than 18 years.

More than one million Azerbaijanis have become IDPs as a result of Armenia's occupation of 20 percent of Azerbaijani territories.
