Egyptian FM visits Absheron region in Azerbaijan

The Egyptian delegation led by foreign minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit arrived in Absheron region of Azerbaijan where he visited an Egypt Park in the city of Khirdalan and monument to President Hosni Mubarak here.
The minister described the monument erected to honor of the Egyptian leader as a “striking” example of “friendship” between the two nations. Chief of Absheron's Executive Power Zakir Farajov praised the current level of bilateral relations.

Farajov said memorandum of understanding between sister cities Absheron and Qalyubiya envisages cooperation in various fields, including agriculture, industry and culture. Chief of Executive Power said one of streets in Khirdalan was named after Galyubiyya as a symbol of friendship.

Egyptian delegation also visited a secondary school with an Arabic language bias named after Hosni Mubarak in Khirdalan. There is also an Azerbaijan-Egypt friendship Park in Qalyubiya where a monument was erected to the national leader of Azerbaijani Heydar Aliyev.
