Georgia to host Azerbaijani youth congress

The first congress of the Azerbaijani youth in Georgia will be held at the Nariman Narimanov Culture House in Marneuli May 15 with the organizational support of the Azerbaijanis Cultural Center.

"About 300 people, including representatives of the Azerbaijani youth of NGOs, students and intellectuals, are expected to attend the event," the Cultural Center reported.

The Azerbaijani and Georgian officials are also expected take part in the event. "The congress will discuss the role of the Azerbaijani youth in public life and establishment of the Union of the Azerbaijani youth of Georgia," the source said.

Cultural Center Chairman Fazil Hasanov said the main purpose of the congress, organized with the support of the Azerbaijani State Committee for work with the Diaspora, is to increase integration of the Azerbaijani youth in civil society of Georgia and their role in public life.
