Azerbaijani official: Azerbaijan-CoE relations enter new stage

Movlud Cavusoglu's election as President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) is a new beginning in the Azerbaijan-CoE relations, PACE Vice President and head of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE, Azerbaijani Parliamentary International and Inter-parliamentary Relations Committee Chairman, Samad Seyidov said.

"During our ten-year membership in CE, together with you we strive to protect not only Azerbaijan's values, but also all Turkic world's," Seyidov said at the meeting with Cavusoglu.  

The Azerbaijani delegation to PACE will provide Cavusoglu, as chairman of this structure, all possible support, Seyidov said.

"We are confident that during your activity, we can achieve solutions that concern not only Azerbaijan and Turkey, but also the whole of Europe," he said.

Democracy is gradually developing in Azerbaijan and the country strives to occupy a worthy place in Europe, Seyidov said.

"We are confident that under your leadership we can jointly achieve solution to other challenges that we face," Seyidov added.

According to him, Azerbaijan's support to Cavusoglu will continue.

"You are a supporter of democracy and your activities brought developments to CE. We hope that as head of PACE you can achieve even greater success," Seyidov said.
