Friendship group for Azerbaijan established in Mexican parliament

The Mexico-Azerbaijan friendship group has been set up in the Mexican parliament in order to expand bilateral ties between the two countries, deputy chair of the group Eduardo Mendoza Arellano told Azerbaijani ambassador Ilgar Mukhtarov.

“Azerbaijan's achieving great accomplishments in the energy sector in the Eurasia region sparked a keen interest in Mexico,” said Mendoza.

At a meeting with Mukhtarov held on the sidelines of the energy commision`s forum at the Mexico's Chamber of Deputies, Arellano noted there good opportunities for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Mexico.

The Azerbaijani diplomat updated Arellano on the upcoming Caspian Oil and Gas conference and exhibition to be held in Baku on June 4-5.

The ambassador emphasized “participation of Arellano in the event as a secretary of the energy commission would help strengthen Mexico-Azerbaijan relations”.

He expressed hope that the Mexican MP would visit Baku to meet Azerbaijani colleagues.
