03 April 2010 [22:07] - TODAY.AZ
A delegation of Sub-committee on NATO Partnership will visit Azerbaijan Apr.12-14, Ziyafat Asgarov, deputy speaker told journalists.
"NATO committees and sub-committees have visited Azerbaijan several times and prefer to cooperate with us. We also support the cooperation," Asgarov said.

NATO cooperation with the South Caucasus countries - Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia - is mainly carried out within Partnership for Peace Programme, Individual Partnership Action Plan, as well as Process of Analysis and Planning Program. These documents define the objectives and intentions of the partner countries to hold consultations with NATO regarding reforms in the spheres of defence, security and military policy.

Asgarov stressed that NATO Parliamentary Assembly will hold its spring session in Riga in late May. The session will discuss issues on Afghanistan and Iraq, as NATO leadership made conclusion concerning these countries.
