Azerbaijan determines fate of some individuals missing since Karabakh war

The fate of 84 persons (930 since 2005) registered as missing with the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons have been clarified and their names have been removed form the list.

It has been determined that 29 of them are alive, 35 were killed in battles, identified by their relatives and buried, the names of 13 persons were repeated in the list, 7 went missing outside the conflict zone.

The investigations found out that 7 went missing in the battles.

As of December 1, 2009, 4,133 were registered by the State Commission as missing persons and 1,396 as persons released from captivity.

It has been determined that 44 persons registered as missing persons in the State Commission are alive in the territories occupied by Armenian armed forces and have been captured.

As a result of the investigations carried out in connection with the missing persons, references have been prepared about 119 persons.

Questionnaires about 576 persons were sent to various state bodies and international organizations to specify the information of the State Commission and concerning the search of the missing persons.

The replies to the questionnaires concerning 332 persons registered as missing in the State Commission and the International Committee of the Red Cross, and other materials (including personal data) have been analyzed, systematized and collected in the personal data about them.
