Azerbaijani embassy in Romania marks World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day

The embassy of Azerbaijan in Romania has organized an event to mark solidarity day of world Azerbaijanis.
The event brought together students, workers of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation`s office in Romania, officials of SOCAR's representation in Bucharest, representatives of the Azerbaijani Diaspora organizations.

Opening the event, ambassador Eldar Hasanov read out President Ilham Aliyev's message to world Azerbaijanis on the solidarity day.

“This holiday was established by the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in December 1991 at the initiative of national leader Heydar Aliyev.”

Hasanov noted national leader Heydar Aliyev's policy had successfully been continued by President Ilham Aliyev.

The diplomat also briefed the participants on the economic development of Azerbaijan and President Ilham Aliyev's efforts towards resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Touching upon Romania-Azerbaijan relationship, Hasanov pointed out the embassy and Diaspora organizations contribute to developing it even more.

He underlined an agreement on Strategic partnership signed during President Ilham Aliyev's official visit to Romania opened a new page in expansion of bilateral relationship.

“This fact shows that Romania attaches special importance to relationship with Azerbaijan, so official Bucharest has signed such documents just with the United States and France,” he added.

The event participants were handed over the text of President Ilham Aliyev's message to world Azerbaijanis on the solidarity day.
