Azerbaijani FM comments on lifting visa requirements between Azerbaijan, Turkey

“Lifting visa requirements between Azerbaijan and Turkey will be debated again as soon as this issue is coordinated by the related state bodies of Azerbaijan, this," Spokesman for Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Elkhan Polukhov said.

He did not divulge exact date for renewed discussions.

“The work continues. We are waiting for answer of the appropriate bodies. The issue will be discussed again after all the procedures end,” he said.

Though the agreement to cancel the visa regime was to be signed during Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov's official visit to Turkey on Dec. 25, it did not take place.

Mammadyarov attributed it to bureaucratic procedures.
