Azerbaijani interior minister receives Georgian counterpart

Azerbaijan’s Interior Minister, Colonel-General Ramil Usubov received Georgian Interior Minister Ivane Merabishvili, Interior Ministry’s press office said.
Usubov noted that the cooperation between the interior bodies were developing and mutual relations in combating transnational crimes, exchange of experience serve interests of the friendly nations.

It was noted that the documents signed between the ministries recently, particularly the agreement signed by Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey in April, 2002, on cooperation in combating terrorism, organized crimes and other grave crimes, gave an impetus to development of bilateral relations and relations on the level of the international organizations.

Following this, Usubov gave information about the work done and reforms carried out to ensure the socio-political stability in the country.

Georgian Interior Minister Merabishvili thanked for the efforts made to strengthen cooperation and expressed his confidence that the relations would further develop.
