The municipal election in Azerbaijan was organized very well, said members of the observation mission of the CoE Congress of Local and Regional Authorities at a press conference.
Vice-President of the Congress Jean-Claude Frecon said the 15-member delegation visited more than 100 polling stations during the voting process.
He praised the fact that polling stations were equipped with necessary facilities.
He said the delegation members saw a significant progress in the election.
Frecon also thanked the Azerbaijani government for the support shown to them before and after the election.
Other members of the delegation praised the course of the voting, saying they just faced some irregularities which had no serious impact on the results.
The mission`s final opinion will be discussed at a meeting of the Bureau of the Congress to be held on January 15.
