CEC official: Int'l observers see Azerbaijan's municipal voting free, democratic and transparent

International observers see that the voting process is free, democratic and transparent, said official of Azerbaijan Central Election Commission Rovzat Gasimov commenting on the municipal elections in the country.

He noted about 50 thousand local and foreign observers were registered to monitor the process.

“International observers include representatives of some organizations and workers of embassies in Baku, and majority of them observe the process in the capital and various regions of the country.

Gasimov said so far the CEC received no complaints about irregularities from the observers.

“This shows that democracy and transparency is ensured in the process,” he added.

Gasimov pointed out observers were also provided opportunities to contact with CEC officials.
