Over 500 Azerbaijan Civil Solidarity Party members to contest municipal elections

“Candidates from the Civil Solidarity Party (CSP) have prepared and submitted all the required documents to the Central Election Commission (CEC) in time to participate in municipal elections,” SCP Chairman Sabir Rustamkhanli said.

“Over 500 candidates from our will take part in the elections,” he said.
 
He said exact number of candidates will be known after the CEC completes the registration procedures.

“We tried to nominate mainly youth and women. Youth make up great part of our candidates,” Rustamkhanli said.

“We plan to prepare campaign commercials for our candidates as soon as registration of candidates completes,” he added.

"I have traveled to country’s region, held meetings and discussed various issues, in particular, the importance of the upcoming elections and participation of our candidates. I will further participate in such meetings as soon as the election campaign starts,” he said.

Azerbaijan will hold municipal elections on Dec. 23. Candidates will contest 15,682 places in 1,718 municipalities.

Signature collections campaign of candidates will last till Nov. 13.
