Does Armenian hotel which takes Azerbaijani currency operate in Azerbaijan? – Photo

Australia’s online directory HotelsCombined is an internet resource through which one can choose any hotel across the world, book a place, and so on.

The directory lists Stepanakert (Armenian name for Azerbaijani city of Khankandi) as a city where hotel entitled ‘Armenia’ is located (http://www.hotelscombined.com/City/Stepanakert.htm).

Moreover, the fee for accommodation in this so-called 'Armenian Hotel' is indicated in manat, national currency of Azerbaijan.

So many inaccuracies, errors and unconscious provocations show that the online directory is unaware of the actual state of affairs.

The list includes no Azerbaijani city except Baku.

We urge all readers who are aware of the real state of affairs to write a letter of protest to Australian online directory of the page
(http://www.hotelscombined.com/AboutUs/ReportErrors.aspx) with a request to remove the name "Stepanakert" from the list of cities of Azerbaijan Republic.

I consider it to be important to bring into your notice that on this page (http://www.hotelscombined.com/Country/Azerbaijan.htm) you list ‘Stepanakert’ as another city of Azerbaijan, besides Baku. The Nagorno-Karabakh region, (where this ‘Armenia Hotel’ is situated) is an internationally recognized part of Azerbaijan, and therefore there should be Khankandi, not Stepanakert (which is Armenian name for Khankandi).

I believe this is clearly a misunderstanding, and kindly ask you to remove ‘Stepanakert’ from the list of cities listed on Azerbaijan, leaving only Baku. I hope this mistake will soon be corrected.
