Discussions “Azerbaijan-France relations in context of modern regional geopolitics” held in Baku

Discussions on “Azerbaijan-France relations in the context of modern regional geopolitics” were held in the Center for Strategic Studies under Azerbaijani President on Oct. 9.
French ambassador to Azerbaijan Gabriel Keller gave detailed information about the level of political, economic and cultural relations between the two countries.

Mentioning that Azerbaijan seats at crossroads of the West and East, ambassador said Azerbaijan has strategic positions in the field of energy and as a country exporting energy resources and having transit opportunities is of great importance for Europe, including France.

He said Azerbaijan’s involvement in the Eastern Partnership program will have more positive influence on the development of the relations between the two countries.

“Azerbaijan is also close neighbor of the European Union and we are interested in the peace and stability near our borders,” he said.

The ambassador said 25 people have recently studied in the higher schools of France and French-language courses have been organized there.

As many as 30 Azerbaijani students have been sent to France through the program financed by Azerbaijani government this year.

Representatives of the diplomatic missions and international organizations also attended the discussions.
