On Oct.8-10, Ashgabat will host the International Exhibition "Turkmen Fish Industry - 2009" and the international scientific conference "Protection and rational use of water bio-resources of the Caspian Sea."

The Turkmen State Committee for Fisheries and the Turkmen Chamber of Commerce are the organizers of the event.
According to the organizers, the Turkmen Fish Industry is experiencing a period of renovation and modernization. Turkmenistan creates modern infrastructure of the fishing industry, establishes new enterprises and upgrades existing ones.
Companies from 16 countries, including Macalister Elliot & Partners and KINESIS Energy Limited (United Kingdom), FISCHTECHNIK GERMANI (Germany), Deijing huayou hinye materials co. Ltd. (China), European Technology Development (Italy) will attend the event. At the forum, Russia will be represented by the "Astrakhan shipyard", Lenmontazh "and" Gran ". Representatives of the Scandinavian countries with proven experience in the development of marine fisheries also expressed great interest to the Turkmen exhibition.
Foreign companies will exhibit new equipment and advanced production technology, clothing for fishermen, trucks, tanks for transportation of live fish, refrigerators and other special machines and small swimming facilities (Kazanka brand with Yamaha engines and boats).
The Turkmen state-owned enterprise "Balkanbalik" engaged in fish production in the Caspian Sea and the processing of fishery products also will be represented in the forum. The company's section will familiarize visitors with the sea fishing fleet and processing infrastructure of Balkanbalik, as well as with a wide range of its products, including fresh, frozen, smoked, dried and canned fish. In addition, the company produces forage fish meal for the needs of poultry and livestock.
Development of aquaculture (breeding and rearing of aquatic organisms - fish, shellfish, algae under controlled conditions to increase the productivity of water bodies) in various regions of the country is one of the main priorities of the Turkmen State Committee for Fisheries. A special section of the exhibition is devoted to pond farms, which worked out effective methods of cultivation of young carp, silver carp and white amur.
Subjects of the exhibition "Turkmen Fish Industry - 2009" are followings: aquaculture, reproduction and protection of water resources; equipment for automatic control in aquaculture, technology, equipment, materials and services for fish farming, special technologies for industrial fish farming, fish farming, fishing industry, refrigeration and storage equipment and etc.
