Following the solemn welcoming ceremony, the defense officials of both countries held large meeting and discussed the prospects of development of Azerbaijan-Czech cooperation in the fields of defense and military education, current situation in the South Caucasus and Nagorno Karabakh conflict.

Minister Safar Abiyev informed his Czech counterpart that 15-year negotiations mediated by the Minsk Group have not given results yet and it doesn’t leave other way to Azerbaijan to use force for liberation of its lands from the Armenian occupation because Armenia has no intention to solve the conflict peacefully.

Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic signed first agreement on defense cooperation at the end of the meeting.
