Azerbaijan's prosecutor general says amendments to Law on Prosecutor's Office not linked with certain persons

“The law on prosecutor’s office was adopted in 1999. The number of new institutions has been established under the prosecutor’s office and other institutions have been reformed since then. The new draft law considers strengthening of social protection of prosecutor’s office staff members, their retirement insurance, current problems and more that 22 different changes and amendments," he said.

All these were directed toward the improvement of prosecutor’s office. Regarding the lifting of restrictions on prosecutor’s term, you have to know that my term of will terminate office on April 26, 2010. The next prosecutor general will be appointed by President Ilham Aliyev," he said.
