Azerbaijani foreign ministry not believes signing Ankara-Yerevan protocols will lead to positive changes in Armenia's stance

01 October 2009 [11:22] - TODAY.AZ
Baku does not believe signing of the Turkish-Armenian protocol on the resumption of diplomatic ties may lead to positive changes in Armenia's position.
"Signing of the Turkish-Armenian protocol on the resumption of diplomatic ties, of course, will have impact on solution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and development of the region. But I do not want to jump ahead. We have stated that we do not believe without achieving momentum in resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, any steps in this direction and signing of the protocols are possible ," Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov told reporters on Oct.1.

Signing of the protocols may change Armenia's position, but it is unlikely that these changes will be positive, Azimov said.
