Azerbaijani parliament launches department for European integration

The department is tasked to align country's legislation with European standards, Chief of parliament's staff Safa Mirzayev said at the briefing after the presentation of the project on support to the Azerbaijani parliament.

Mirzayev said the department will work under the parliament's administration and later become a special section.

"The Department for European Integration will involve different specialists and we will try to realize the project on support to the Azerbaijani parliament at the highest level," Mirzayev added.

On Sept. 25, the Twinning project on support to the Azerbaijani parliament was presented at the parliament. The Lithuanian Seim will work with the Azerbaijani parliamentarians to realize the project.
