SimTravel makes gross error related to Azerbaijan – Photo

15 September 2009 [15:14] - TODAY.AZ
Various companies produce so-called tourist SIM-card for travellers to ensure convenient mobile communication.
This is alternative to roaming and cheaper. One of these companies, in this case SimTravel, distinguished itself, but not in the best way.

The list of countries where the afore-said Sim-cards are available indicates Nagorno-Karabakh, an integral part of Azerbaijan, as a part of Armenia (http://www.simtravel.ru/mobile/sim/catalog/karabah).

It has been stated on numerous occasions that Nagorno Karabakh is located in the territory of the Azerbaijan Republic and listing it as a part of a neighboring state Armenia, which holds 20 percent of Azerbaijani territory under occupation, violates all international norms.

Undoubtedly, this fact must no go unattended by the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies and, of course, Today.Az readers.

You can send the following sample letter of protest to [email protected].

To the attention of the SimTravel executives!

SimTravel web site’s Tourist Sim-cards section has a gross error which harms Azerbaijan’s interests.

In a catalogue of countries you list Nagorno-Karabakh as a part of Armenia. It is noticeable that Nagorno-Karabakh is an inalienable part of Azerbaijan which is also testified by the UN General Assembly resolutions. The world community recognizes Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity guided by international law.

We hope the error will be corrected as soon as possible.

Thank you
